If coming from the north, Florence or Pisa, take the Grosseto bypass and continue towards Rome on the Via Aurelia. After about 34 km, exit at Albinia and follow the signs for Porto Santo Stefano (12 km). If coming from the south, towards Rome, take the Via Aurelia or the Rome-Fiumicino highway and continue on the A12 highway towards Civitavecchia until Tarquinia. Then continue on the SS1 Aurelia towards Orbetello. After crossing the town of Orbetello, follow the signs for Porto Santo Stefano (12 km).

Train
Take the Pisa-Rome line and get off at Orbetello-Monte Argentario station. From Rome, take the regional train from Roma Termini or Tuscolana, Ostiense, Trastevere, or S. Pietro stations. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Orbetello station. From there, take the local bus to Porto Santo Stefano, which will take you directly to the embarkation point for Giglio Island.

Autobus
The Orbetello Monte-Argentario train station is connected by a direct bus line to the Porto Santo Stefano boarding area. It takes about 20 minutes (better to calculate a few more minutes) to get from the train station to the Molo Garibaldi stop (the first stop arriving from P. S. Stefano).

A taxi service is also available from the Orbetello Monte Argentario station.

Tiemme Bus service to Fiumicino Airport.
Every day there are departures to "Leonardo da Vinci" Fiumicino Airport at 7:25 from Grosseto Bus Terminal Station, at 8:00 from Orbetello Train Station, arriving at 9:30 at Terminal 3, Stand 10 of Fiumicino Airport. The second trip departs at 15:15 from Siena Train Station and makes the following stops: 15:25 Siena Piazza Gramsci, 16:05 Paganico, 16:25 Grosseto, 17:00 Orbetello, arriving at 18:30 in Fiumicino.

From Fiumicino Airport, the buses depart from Terminal 3, Stand 10, and follow the same route with usual stops: the first trip leaves at 10:45 from Fiumicino to arrive at 12:15 in Orbetello, 12:50 in Grosseto, 13:10 in Paganico, 13:50 in Siena Piazza Gramsci, and 14:00 at Siena Train Station. The second trip departs at 19:30 from Fiumicino and arrives at 21:00 in Orbetello, 21:35 in Grosseto, 21:55 in Paganico, 22:35 in Siena Piazza Gramsci, and 22:45 at Siena Train Station

Boarding for the Island of Giglio

Boarding for the Island of Giglio is located in Porto Santo Stefano, right at the entrance of the town (Navigation instructions: Piazzale Candi 8, 58019 Porto Santo Stefano, commercial port Porto del Valle).

If you bring your car to Giglio Island, you can leave it directly at the embarkation point. The ticket offices for both ferry companies Toremar and Maregiglio are located just before the pier on the other side of the road.

If you leave your car in Porto Santo Stefano, we recommend parking it in one of the guarded parking lots near the ferry terminal. The rates for long-term parking range from 5 to 15 EUR per day.

Parking along the streets of Porto S. Stefano is almost all paid, marked by blue stripes. However, parking with time restrictions is not cheap. Finding free parking with white stripes is almost impossible throughout the town.

Most of our apartments have a private parking spot. Alternatively, it is possible to purchase weekly parking passes for paid parking lots.
